WASP-33 b is a Super-Jupiter exoplanet (an exceptionally massive gas giant), about 17.9 times the radius of Earth. Its scorching equilibrium temperature of 2782 K (2509°C) makes it far too hot for liquid water. The planet completes one orbit around its star every 29 hours. It was discovered in 2010 using the transit method. It orbits the star WASP-33, located approximately 122 parsecs (398 light-years) from Earth.
