Super-Jupiter Exoplanets

Exceptionally massive gas giants that dwarf even Jupiter, often several times its size and mass.

Super-Jupiters are the largest known exoplanets, with radii exceeding 15 Earth radii (roughly 1.3 times Jupiter's radius). These colossal worlds can have masses ranging from 2 to 13 times that of Jupiter, approaching the boundary where planets transition into brown dwarfs. Many Super-Jupiters are found in close orbits around their host stars, making them extreme "hot Jupiters" with surface temperatures exceeding 2,000 K. Their enormous size makes them among the easiest exoplanets to detect via the transit method, as they block a significant portion of their star's light during each orbit.
