Orbiting WASP-158 | 525.0 parsecs away

Share

WASP-158 b is a Gas Giant exoplanet (a massive planet composed primarily of hydrogen and helium), about 12.0 times the radius of Earth. Its scorching equilibrium temperature of 1590 K (1317°C) makes it far too hot for liquid water. The planet completes one orbit around its star every 3.7 Earth days. It was discovered in 2018 using the transit method. It orbits the F-type star WASP-158, located approximately 525 parsecs (1712 light-years) from Earth.
